So you’ve probably noticed by now if you own an android box that the remote that comes with these things suck. Well some of them are okay but most you gotta be three feet away and pointing it straight at the box to get it to function properly. If you do have a good working remote but have realized “wow this thing sucks to type with”. You’re right, these remotes can be very frustrating to type with. You’ve probably heard by now that there is a kodi remote app out, well there’s a few for android and IOS but I’m gonna show you how to install the one I recommend.
A lot of people opt for buying a bluetooth keyboard because they don’t know about a free kodi remote app that they can download for their smartphone that will do more then what a bluetooth keyboard can and it doesn’t cost a cent.
Anyways let’s get started. ( You must have a android phone to use this app)
Go to the google play store on your android phone
Now type in Yatse into the search bar.
Install the yatse app, note that I already have mine installed so just pretend the “open” says install.
Now open up kodi on whatever device you use kodi on.
Now you want to head on over to system and click on settings.
Now you’re going to move your way down to “web server”
Click on allow remote controll via HTTP.
There you are all setup and ready to use your kodi remote app. All you have to do is open up yatse for the first time and it will automatically detect your kodi device and you’ll be ready to go.
Make sure that your smartphone is connected to the same wifi as your device or the kodi remote app won’t work.
If you haven’t got a device for streaming kodi yet or are looking into getting an android box here is my recommendation
