In this post I’m going to review Three fairly solid android tv boxes with in depth information on there specs and how well they operate.
So welcome and welcome to my android tv box reviews which could help you find the best android tv box for your needs.
Okay so let’s start with the mxq amlogic s805
The Mxq s805 is a great beginners box for one main reason, the price. These boxes are very cheap and affordable and gets the job done. The mxq amlogic s805 specs are pretty good and can match up with some of the top tier android boxes. It comes with one gigabyte of ddr3 ram, eight gigabytes of space, hdmi and av support.
The mxq runs on on android 4.4.2 which is an older version but still supports kodi. You can still update the boxes software to the latest if you’re tech savy. The box can play any video up to 1080p resolution, which is basically a necessity these days.
The mxq amlogic s805 is one of the first android boxes I purchased when I first started getting into Kodi. I was very surprised at how small the box is and how easy it was to set up. The only thing I really didn’t like about the box was the remote, the remote seemed nice at first, lightweight and the buttons seemed functional but as I started operating the box more and more it was harder to get the box to receive my input without actually having to point the remote directly at it from five feet away. I resolved this issue by downloading an app for android called Yatse, which basically turns my smart phone into a remote. All in all I’d rate this box a 8/10, because of the price and that it’s able to perform well with kodi.
Let’s get to the second part of my android tv box reviews
The MXV 905 is the next in my line up and has a bit more kick to it then the mxq!
The MXV comes packed with two gigabytes of ddr3 ram, an eight gigabyte hard drive, hdmi and wifi/ethernet support. The MXV 905 also supports 4k resolution so if you have a 4k tv and can find 4k streams on kodi then it becomes very useful.
The box is very speedy loading kodi and performing any other functions that you need to do. The remote is almost flawless on this device or from at least my experience it hasn’t had the same issues I had with the mxq s805 amlogic. I have nothing more to say about the MXV besides it’s a great entertainment center and for the price it’s definitely a steal of a deal, I’d rate it a 9/10
Onto the third part of my android tv box reviews
The Nvidia Shield TV
The Nvidia shield tv can be used for gaming and for streaming all online media content through kodi with ease. It can play anything in 4k and is priced a little high but definitely worth it since it comes with a gaming controller as well. The only thing with the nvidia shield is that it doesn’t come preloaded with kodi and there is some tinkering involved to get it setup and streaming movies.
The nvidia shield tv has 16 gb of storage, 3 gb of ram, wifi and bluetooth capabilities. So If you’re looking to spend a few more dollars on a really great system then the nvidia shield is for you.
I’d rate the nvidia 9/10.
